The Thayer case has been continued until sometime after January 20. We have been unable to find out why.
Several theories have surfaced. Perhaps Thayer's mental state has relapsed and they need to evaluate him again. We contacted Paulette Sutton, a blood spatter expert from the Regional Forensic Center in Tennessee, and forwarded her contact information to State's Attorney Ace Grinsted; perhaps they have contacted her or another expert?
We've held rallies outside the court. We've sat in the court gallery. We've written to and called judges and prosecutors (but without any reponse). We've contacted animal control. We've contacted forensic experts. We've been featured in numerous news outlets. We've written letters to the editor.
How else can we pressure our judicial system to ensure that the victims' voices are heard? Are the legal representatives of WE THE PEOPLE ignoring us? Obviously we can vote out those elected who we feel have abandoned their duties, but we have to wait for the next elections.
What else can we do?
We are working on ideas - tee shirts, business cards, print ads, speaking engaements at schools - to spread the word about the Animal Justice Rally Group and our cause. How else can we reach out to our community and gain more active members and support for these victims of violent crime?
